Senior Contracts & Subcontracts Administrator

Verus Research is searching for a Senior Contracts & Subcontracts Administrator to provide enterprise support in contract management, pricing, and subcontract administration across the entire contract life cycle from proposal development to closeout.

The Senior Contracts & Subcontracts Administrator will, on behalf of a firm performing in both the prime contractor and sub-contractor roles, (1) actively participate in the submission of timely and wholly compliant cost and pricing proposals; (2) negotiate fee and contract terms and conditions; (3) administer prime contracts through closeout; (4) develop and negotiate non-disclosure agreements and teaming agreements; (5) prepare sub-contractor requests for proposals; (5) administer the entire scope of work performed by sub-contractors through closeout; (6) support the further development of efficient company processes and procedures; and (7) support the Company in discussions with the Defense Contract Audit Agency and Defense Contract Management Agency.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Contracts & Subcontracts Administrator role will have a breadth of experience in contract and subcontract administration and proposal submission and possess a strong mix of analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas and provide excellent customer service in a team environment.  Success in this demanding role will stem from:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Holding or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree(s) in business, management, accounting, finance, or similar field.
  • 5-10 years of experience working in Federal sector contracting and subcontracting (related and equivalent experience will be considered).
  • Proven record of success in supporting contracted efforts awarded under both the Federal and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR/DFAR) and via commercial contact channels (this includes regulations as modified by various Federal entities, including the DoD, Department of Energy, and National Aeronautics & Space Administration), with special focus on FAR Parts 15, 31, 35 and 44.
  • Strong working knowledge of multiple contract types (e.g., firm fixed price, cost plus fixed fee, time & material, small business innovative research efforts, GSA and similar schedules, “other transaction agreements”) and engineering change proposals.
  • Familiar with weighted guidelines, purchasing, government property administration, intellectual property protection, and Federal export-import regulations.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office applications suite and commercially available enterprise resource planning systems; experience with JAMIS® Prime a plus

Technical Editor

Verus Research is searching for a Technical Editor who can effectively communicate scientific ideas and outcomes pertaining to research and development (R&D) in the directed energy (DE) field.  No previous experience in DE is required.  However, candidates possessing a technical background in electrical engineering, physics, or similar disciplines are more likely to provide clear explanations of complex technical ideas to others within the scientific community.  This posting is for work in the Albuquerque, NM, area.

In addition to the academic training described above, the ideal candidate for the Technical Editor will be able to work well in a team and provide coherent reporting of technical concepts.  Success in this role will stem from the following characteristics:

Senior Electrical Engineer

Verus Research is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to perform research and development in the technical domains of directed energy (DE), radio frequency (RF) and microwave communications, and electronic warfare.  The Senior Electrical Engineer will perform high-fidelity modeling and simulation-based design and optimization of circuit and system components, experimental testing, and analysis to support the development of prototype systems of interest to our customers.  Anticipated responsibilities include program management, technical management, and serving as a senior test leader by guiding a team of junior engineers in support of customer-defined requirements.  This posting is for work in the Albuquerque, NM, area.

Mechanical Engineer

Verus Research is searching for a Mechanical Engineer with intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) warhead engineering experience to support the U.S. Air Force’s MK21A Lead Project officer (LPO) and to provide technical expertise for the organization on engineering assignments concerning ICBM warheads.  The Mechanical Engineer will perform technical planning, analysis, and evaluation of system and subsystem requirements, assist with translating requirements into design criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications.
